I am a Romanian-born American conceptual artist and UCONN alumnus (December '95).
Before COVID19 pandemic, Manchester Community College hired me for their credit-free program, called The Noon Institute, to run a Contemporary Art class. Presently, as a professional fut-time artist, I am aiming to continue the work of the great artists, Lucio Fontana, Agostino Bonalumi, and Zilia Sánchez in merging two an three dimensional art using the canvas surface as the most logical building block in achieving such a goal. In short, I am trying to fill the gap between 2 and 3-D exploring the [virtual/intellectual/elusive] 2.5-D by using tools like tromp-l'œil (optical illusion), real objects, and elevated canvas strips to mimic depth and transparency, making the 2-D, 3-D transition believable.
